2020 Aridus Wine Company Petite Sirah

Posted on The Nittany Epicurean by Michael Chelus

Just over a month ago, we returned to Willcox, Arizona for a wine from Aridus Wine Company. That wine was a white wine that featured acidity nicely balanced with residual sugar - the 2023 Malvasia Bianca produced & bottled by Aridus Wine Company. Today, we'll try this red wine from Aridus Wine Company:

This wine is made from Petite Sirah grown in the Willcox AVA. Here it is in the glass:

The wine showed a dark garnet almost opaque color. Cherry, raspberry preserves, blackberry, vanilla and oak could each be found on the nose. Cherry cola, vanilla, raspberry preserves and blackberry exuded luxury on the palate supported by notes of eucalyptus and oak. The wine was full-bodied and exhibited good length along with soft tannins. It would pair very well with handmade papparedellle with fresh porcini mushrooms.

While this wine* is no longer available at the winery, you can purchase all of its current relesaes at one of the winery's tasting rooms or directly from its website.

Stay tuned for more from Aridus Wine Company!
