2021 Aridus Cabernet Franc Review

Tasting notes:

Sticking true to the characteristics of Cabernet Franc, this wine has a fruity tartness and a strong herbal presence that ties everything together. The aroma fills the glass with plum, red licorice, rosemary, and cedar. The taste evolves a little with baked plum, cherry, baking spice, licorice, oak, and a little leather in the aftertaste. Upfront this wine has a fairly balanced blend of the plum and herbal characteristics. The fuit in this wine generally matches the intensity as the wood, herbs, and spice, keeping it on a fairly level platform on your palate. There is a cohesive blend of flavors, representing the varietal rather than separated characteristics of the varietal. There is a tartness that lends itself to the fruit while also giving an entry to the dryness in the wine. This is a great production of a Cabernet Franc, while not coming off as '“over worked” it is a true representation of the fruit itself.
