2021 Aridus Wine Company Tempranillo

Posted on The Nittany Epicurean by Michael Chelus

A week ago, we returned to Willcox, Arizona for a wine from Aridus Wine Company. That wine was a limited production red wine - the 2020 Petite Sirah produced & bottled by Aridus Wine Company. Let's go back to Aridus Wine Company now for another limited production red wine:

2021 Tempranillo produced & bottled by Aridus Wine Company (Willcox, Arizona) This wine is 100% Tempranillo from the Willcox AVA located in Cochise and Graham Counties of southeastern Arizona.

Here it is in the glass:

The wine showed a dark garnet almost opaque color. Cherry, raspberry preserves, currant, vanilla and oak were each discernible on the nose. Black cherry, raspberry, currant, blackberry and dark chocolate powered the bold, rich palate supported by an oaken foundation. The wine was full-bodied and exhibited great length along with soft tannins. As the winery suggests, this wine would pair very well with roasted lamb.

This wine can be purchased for $50 at one of the winery's tasting rooms or directly from its website.

Stay tuned for more from Aridus Wine Company!
