The fruit for our 2017 Tank 9 blend is sourced from three different vineyards. The Zinfandel was sourced from Tamara Maren Vineyards in Lodi, California on September 21st, 2017. The Petit Verdot and Merlot were both sourced from New Mexico Vineyards in Mimbrés Valley, New Mexico. The Petite Verdot was harvested on September 15th, 2017 while the Merlot was harvested on September 1st, 2017. Tank 9 is a blend of 48% Zinfandel, 29% Petit Verdot, and 23% Merlot. Fermentation lasted a total of 14 days when it was transferred into stainless steel tank to age until February 7, 2018 when bottled.
Our 2017 Tank 9 returns with even more berry than ever. Aromas of fresh berries on the nose, with blackberry and plum ruling the palate, with lush vanilla oak and a hint of leather rounding out the flavors. Medium length tannins add structure.
