We dedicate this wine to the memory of John Kovacs, proprietor of Sándor Vineyards and friend. His enthusiasm and joy for winegrowing in the Chiricahua Foothills was infectious, and he is dearly missed.
This wine is a clear, deep purple with aromas of mulberries, blackberries and a hint of violet. On the palate it is well-balanced, with medium tannin, body, alcohol, and intensity. This wine is intensely savory, with tamari, bay leaf, wet earth, leather, and tellicherry pepper dominating the palate. These are bolstered by fresh flavors of blackberry, and clove spice.
Our Oak-aged Montepulciano wine has, by far, the most enthusiastic following due to its richness. The wine exhibits deep black-fruit flavors such as boysenberry, blackberry and prune, licorice, and oaky flavors of cocoa, vanilla and mocha. The grippy tannins will age this wine to perfection.
Our first harvest from our Estate Vineyards, situated in the foothill mountains in Pearce, Arizona, brings this delightful white field blend of Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Malvasia Bianca. This wine has a bright lemon-lime acidity, with a touch of marshmallow-like oak sweetness, and an intriguing hint of capers. With tart, crisp tropical notes, this wine is perfectly refreshing for our hot Southwest summers.
This Viognier has a rich, creamy mouth-feel with intriguing aromas and flavors of bay leaf, ginger, grilled grapefruit, stone fruit, and white cherry. Soft and lightly oaky, this Viognier stands as a stunning example of what can be achieved with this variety in the high altitudes of the American southwest.
Smoother, less tannins than a Cabernet. Our Merlot is a classic. Softer, less tannins, fruit-driven than a Cabernet. With cherry flavors and the right amount of oak, this Merlot is a fantastic food pairing partner.
This Tempranillo is built to hold up to a bit of age with its high level of acidity. It has aromatics of cut grass, sweet oak and vanilla. It’s flavors are of juicy red currants, fresh raspberries, and a bit of orange zest. This wine is showing well now, but we expect the fresh fruit aromas and refreshing acidity to carry this wine for another 5-7 years.
This Syrah smells of sage, desert rain, rosemary, smoke, and caramel. On the palate, flavors of black olive, cinnamon, blackberry, and char come together for a well-integrated, mouth-coating sip. The finish is persistent, with all the flavors holding together to the end.
This clear, medium ruby wine has aromas of bay leaf, fresh dark cherries, and vanilla extract. These flavors are joined on the palate by candied orange peel, cranberry sauce, and coffee liqueur. Smooth tannins and sweet vanilla carry this wine for a long, lingering finish.
This Zinfandel is jammy, with hints of blueberry, black pepper, cherry, plum, boysenberry, cranberry, and licorice. It explodes with candied fruitiness followed by spice and often a tobacco-like smoky finish.
Our 2017 Malbec is bursting with fresh berry aromas and flavors - blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry. The palate is rounded out with flavors of bay leaf, coffee, and a hint of sawdust, with lightly chalky tannins and a medium-weight mouthfeel.
